“Infection and death following use of heater/cooler systems in heart surgery: Mycobacterium Chimaera”

Patients have now started speaking out publicly about the affect Mycobacterium Chimaera has had on their lives. The Mail on Sunday has reported on their struggle.

Freeths LLP is currently advising relatives of patients who have been infected by Mycobacterium chimaera from the Sorin 3T heater-cooler system.

Freeths LLP is also investigating cases of patients who are survivors of the Mycobacterium Chimaera infection and who are currently dealing with the impacts of the infection on their lives.

There are estimated to be around 47,000 people who could have been affected.

Should anyone have any queries regarding a potential claim relating to a Mycobacterium chimaera infection following heart surgery, please contact Paul Balen, Consultant, on 0845 0503289, or, paul.balen@freeths.co.uk for further information.
